A doorway to a place of enchantment...

You have to say the title of this post in a British accent. Anyone know what's it from?

So it's not actually to a place of enchantment... well, I guess that depends on your point of view.  Our house doesn't have a master bathroom, but the upstairs bathroom is adjacent to the master bedroom. So, we figured... cutting out a door is a lot easier and cheaper than adding a bathroom (and we didn't have any space to do that anyway)! So, the plan is a lovely Jack-and-Jill (Jack-and-Juli?) bathroom. My hubby was very distressed to discover the fact that his doorframe is the only one in the whole house that's square.

It's absolutely amazing the difference this makes. When we got to bathroom demo (coming soon) there is no way it would have worked without this. It opens up the whole upstairs.

We can't trim it until we finish the walls so finished pics will come then. For now,

lumber for framing: $6

  1. Hint: you have to say it in a BADLY DONE British accent. :-)
